Skin boosters and Polynucleotides
We currently offer five different skin boosters: Profhilo®, Jalupro®, Jalupro HMW®, Jalupro Young Eye® and Definisse Hydrobooster®. We also have 4 Polynucleotide treatments available: PhilArt, PhilArt Next, PhilArt Eye and PhilArt Hair.
Skin boosters and Polynucleotides are administered as a number of small shallow injections placed at different points in the skin. Skin boosters aim to improve hydration and texture of the skin. Unlike dermal filler they do not contour the skin.
All skin booster treatments achieve the best results when administered as a course of treatments. See below for further information on each treatment.
Profhilo®
Profhilo® is offered as a 'beneath the skin' hyaluronic acid moisturising treatment. It has been developed with the patented NAHYCO® technology. Profhilo® is an injectable gel containing Hyaluronic Acid designed to stimulate prolonged activity of the dermal cells. By injecting Profhilo® into the skin the skin cell receptors are stimulated to counteract skin laxity and improve and restore firmness of the skin.
Profhilo® offers one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, therefore not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue.
Initially a course of two treatments are suggested, spaced four weeks apart, with the option to have further treatments as needed in approximately six months. The most common areas of treatment include the face and neck and can also be used for the décolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity.
Jalupro®, Jalupro HMW® and Jalupro Young Eye®
Jalupro®, Jalupro HMW® and Jalupro Young Eye® are injectable skin boosters and bio-revitalisers. Not only does Jalupro® contain hyaluronic acid to improve hydration, but also amino acids to boost collagen synthesis. Jalupro HMW® has a higher concentration of hyaluronic acid and higher molecular weight so it adds greater volume to the skin. This makes Jalupro® HMW more suited to older patients and for the treatment of wrinkles and scarring.
The treatments can be used to improve skin texture, minimize fine lines, improve dark circles around the eyes and improve the appearance of scarring.
This treatment can be used on the face, neck, décolletage, arms, hands, thighs and abdomen. Additionally, unlike some other skin booster treatments, it can be used around the eyes.
Jalupro Young Eye® is a new product designed specifically to treat the eye area. It contains a combination of amino acids for collagen stimulation, bi-density hyaluronic acid for hydration without puffiness and peptides for fibroblast activation, collagen protection and for a muscle relaxing effect.
The skin around the eye tends to show the effects of ageing earlier than other areas due to the skin in this area being very thin and the periocular fat pad disappearing early in the ageing process. This can lead to visible lines and wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness. Jalupro Young Eye® has been developed to support the delicate skin around the eye to improve the appearance of the effects of ageing.
Jalupro® achieves best results when given as a course of three treatments spaced seven to fourteen days apart. Jalupro HMW® achieves best results when given as a course of two treatments spaced approximately twenty days apart. Jalupro Young Eye® is recommended as a course of four treatments spaced one to two weeks apart. The results of all treatments can last up to six months and then further single treatments are recommended to maintain the effects.
Definisse Hydrobooster®
Definisse Hydrobooster® is the newest addition to our range of skin booster treatments. The effects of the hyaluronic acid in this skin booster are enhanced by the inclusion of glycerol, which is widely used in beauty products due to its strong humectant properties. This means that glycerol is excellent at attracting moisture and, once injected, will draw water into the skin from both the surface and from deeper tissues.
This mesotherapy treatment involves multiple small injections into the skin. This injection technique aims to stimulate fibroblast activity to achieve increased collagen production. Skin elasticity, firmness and brightness should be improved combined with increased hydration. The results should be an improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, skin texture and tone. This skin booster can even be used to target specific lines on the face to help to plump and smooth them out.
Definisse Hydrobooster® can be used across the whole face, including the delicate area around the eyes. It is also suitable for treatment of the skin on the neck and décolletage as well as other areas of the body.
The best results are achieved with this treatment when given as a course of three treatments spaced approximately three weeks apart. The results can last up to six months and then further single treatments are recommended to maintain the effects.
Polynucleotides- PhilArt, PhilArt Next, PhilArt Eye and PhilArt Hair
Polynucleotides are injectable biostimulators. They are skin boosters that have the ability to rejuvenate and regenerate the skin. They have wound healing and bio-stimulating properties. Polynucleotides are derived from highly purified salmon and trout DNA. This is sterilised into fractions called polynucleotides, the building blocks of DNA. By injecting this into the skin, they are designed to stimulate fibroblasts, tissue repair, enhance cell turnover, increase skin elasticity, stimulate collagen and improve hyperpigmentation.
This injectable treatment provides DNA molecules that encourage the skin to repair itself. This advancement in regenerative medicine focusses on restoring normal cellular functioning by repairing the skin at a deeper level.
Polynucleotides can be used on the face, eye area, neck, decolletage, body, abdomen, scar tissue, hands and stretch marks. It can also be used on the scalp, eyebrows and beard area to support revitalisation of hair follicles, resulting in the promotion and acceleration of hair growth.
Polynucleotides can be used as a standalone treatment or in combination with other treatments.
A typical polynucleotide treatment protocol would be a course of 3-4 sessions at intervals of 2-4 weeks with a maintenance treatment every 6months.
