One of the most frequent questions I have been asked since we opened our doors is;
'What's a skin booster?'
If you are new to aesthetic treatments you my well not have heard of the vast array of skin boosters available on the market. Most people have heard of Botox and dermal fillers, but skin boosters seem to be a more closely guarded secret amongst the general population.
The aim of skin boosters is to improve the overall appearance of the skin by injecting small doses of hyaluronic acid (HA) into specific areas of the skin. Hyaluronic acid is a natural component in our body and within our skin. Hyaluronic acid attracts water. Each molecule can hold 1000 times it own weight in water. Therefore by injecting small amounts of HA into the skin it draws water in to restore the skins moisture, improve elasticity and firmness and by doing so promotes radiance of the skin. By hydrating the skin it minimises dry patches, firms the texture and tone therefore plumping out fine lines and wrinkles.
However, unlike a dermal filler it does not change the shape of the face or its features. Skin boosters do not add volume in the same way that dermal fillers do.
Currently at Wendover Medispa we offer 2 different skin boosters- Profhilo and Jalupro. At Wendover Medispa we believe in using the highest quality and premium products. All products we order come from reputable pharmacies. Both Profhilo and Jalupro have CE marks that signify that a product sold in the EEA has been assessed to meet high safety, health and environmental protection requirements. We offer special package deals on courses of skin boosters at Wendover Medispa.
Profhilo is an Aesthetic Awards Winner 2022- Injectable product of the year.

This is one of the most popular treatments at Wendover Medispa.
Profhilo is a hyaluronic acid injectable gel. When it is injected into the skin it firms and tones the skin. It markets itself as one of the highest concentrations of HA on the market. By using a high dose of Hyaluronic acid it can tone sagging and ageing skin. As the HA is slowly released in the skin over 28days it stimulates collagen and elastin production.
Profhilo can be injected into many different areas of the skin including the face, neck, decolletage, hands, arms, knees and abdomen.
Profhilo, like other skin boosters is best given as a course of treatment. Initially 2 treatments spread 4 weeks apart, and then a further treatment after 6months.
Jalupro is marketed as a 'dermal biorevitalizer'.

Like Profhilo, Jalupro also contains a high dose of Hyaluronic acid. It is also an injectable skin booster. However, it also contains amino acids and peptides. It has been developed to regenerate skin and maintain a hydrated and refreshed look. Jalupro encourages collagen production to smooth out the appearance of wrinkles. Collagen is a protein in the body and the skin that helps maintain the skins elasticity. Therefore by stimulating collagen production it promotes firmness and elasticity within the skin.
Jalupro produces best results when administered as a course of treatments. Usually 1-3 sessions are undertaken approximately 14days apart.
