Botulinum toxin injections can be used to produce a slimming effect of the jawline. The treatment involves injections into the jaw muscle, known as the masseter, that controls many of the lower jaw movements. Injections of Botulinum toxin into this muscle can help to relax the muscle and limit the movement, whilst still being able to chew and bite. Relaxing and reducing the use of the muscle should result in the size of the muscle decreasing and give the appearance of a slimmer jawline. A consultation with Dr Lorna is required before having this treatment for the first time. This will take place face to face in the clinic.
